Welcome!
'Fair Grounds' is nestled within the Frontenac Arch in the hamlet of Wilmer, Ontario.
Plan a half-hour country drive north of Kingston and just ten minutes east of Sydenham, Ontario.
You are invited to walk the grounds & view hundreds of unique hostas in their various settings.
Hostas are clearly my favourite garden plant! Not only are they low-maintenance, but these elegant hybrids are diverse. Come see the multitude of colours, shapes, textures & sizes, from minis to giants.
I look forward to walking with you through the gardens and sharing my experience with these
remarkable plants.

'Fair Grounds'
In 2000, I discovered the resilience of hostas when we purchased our 1890s farmhouse.
It was the only plant that survived beneath the majestic, water-guzzling maples and could tolerate the summer's heat.
This one plant led me down a very long path of dig--plant--learn--experiment--repeat.
To this day, I continue to expand both my knowledge & garden beds!
This plant will not only save you
time and energy, but it will provide you with many years of enjoyment.
We are located 25 minutes north of Kingston, situated within the Frontenac Arch.
"The Frontenac Arch is the ancient granite bridge from the Canadian Shield
to the Adirondack Mountains.
Its incredibly rich, natural environment and history was recognized in 2002 when it became
a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve...."
